Full Arabic Text of Surah Al-Mulk

30 verses · Para 29 · Makki surah · also known as Surah Tabarak

Ayah 1 Verse 1

تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱلَّذِی بِیَدِهِ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرٌ

Tabaarakal lazee biyadihil mulku wa huwa 'alaa kulli shai-in qadeer

Blessed be He in Whose authority is the dominion (the universe), and He has power over all things

Ayah 2 Verse 2

ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَٱلۡحَیَوٰةَ لِیَبۡلُوَكُمۡ أَیُّكُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلࣰاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡغَفُورُ

Allazee khalaqal mawta walhayaata liyabluwakum ayyukum ahsanu 'amalaa; wa huwal 'azeezul ghafoor

The One (Allah) who has created death and life, so that He may test you (to find out) which of you are best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Forgiving

Ayah 3 Verse 3

ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ سَبۡعَ سَمَـٰوَ ٰتࣲ طِبَاقࣰاۖ مَّا تَرَىٰ فِی خَلۡقِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ مِن تَفَـٰوُتࣲۖ فَٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ هَلۡ تَرَىٰ مِن فُطُورࣲ

Allazee khalaqa sab'a samaawaatin tibaaqam maa taraa fee khalqir rahmaani min tafaawutin farji'il basara hal taraa min futoor

The one (Allah) Who has created the 7 heavens one above another, you cannot see any fault in the creations of the Gracious. So look once again, can you see any rifts

Ayah 4 Verse 4

ثُمَّ ٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ كَرَّتَیۡنِ یَنقَلِبۡ إِلَیۡكَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ خَاسِئࣰا وَهُوَ حَسِیرࣱ

Summar ji'il basara karrataini yanqalib ilaikal basaru khaasi'anw wa huwa haseer

Then repeat the look again, and yet again, your sight will return to you humbled and it is worn out

Ayah 5 Verse 5

وَلَقَدۡ زَیَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ ٱلدُّنۡیَا بِمَصَـٰبِیحَ وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهَا رُجُومࣰا لِّلشَّیَـٰطِینِۖ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لَهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلسَّعِیرِ

Wa laqad zaiyannas samaaa'ad dunyaa bimasaa beeha wa ja'alnaahaa rujoomal lish shayaateeni wa a'tadnaa lahum 'azaabas sa'eer

And indeed We have decorated the nearest heaven with lamps, We have made such lamps as missiles to drive away the devils, and have prepared for them the punishment of the blazing fire

Ayah 6 Verse 6

وَلِلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِیرُ

Wa lillazeena kafaroo bi rabbihim 'azaabu jahannama wa bi'sal maseer

And for those who disbelieve in their Lord, there will be the punishment of hell, and worst indeed is that destination

Ayah 7 Verse 7

إِذَاۤ أُلۡقُوا۟ فِیهَا سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا شَهِیقࣰا وَهِیَ تَفُورُ

Izaaa ulqoo feehaa sami'oo lahaa shaheeqanw wa hiya tafoor

When they will be cast in the fire, they will hear the (terrible) drawing of its breath as it blazes out

Ayah 8 Verse 8

تَكَادُ تَمَیَّزُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَیۡظِۖ كُلَّمَاۤ أُلۡقِیَ فِیهَا فَوۡجࣱ سَأَلَهُمۡ خَزَنَتُهَاۤ أَلَمۡ یَأۡتِكُمۡ نَذِیرࣱ

Takaadu tamayyazu minal ghaizi kullamaaa uliqya feehaa fawjun sa alahum khazanatuhaaa alam yaatikum nazeer

It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast in it; its keeper will ask: “Did no Warner come to you?”

Ayah 9 Verse 9

قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ قَدۡ جَاۤءَنَا نَذِیرࣱ فَكَذَّبۡنَا وَقُلۡنَا مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَیۡءٍ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ كَبِیرࣲ

Qaaloo balaa qad jaaa'anaa nazeerun fakazzabnaa wa qulnaa maa nazzalal laahu min shai in in antum illaa fee dalaalin kabeer

They will say: “Yes indeed, a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said: Allah has never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error.”

Ayah 10 Verse 10

وَقَالُوا۟ لَوۡ كُنَّا نَسۡمَعُ أَوۡ نَعۡقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِیۤ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلسَّعِیرِ

Wa qaaloo law kunnaa nasma'u awna'qilu maa kunnaa feee as haabis sa'eer

And they will say: “Had we only listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the inmates of the blazing fire!”

Ayah 11 Verse 11

فَٱعۡتَرَفُوا۟ بِذَنۢبِهِمۡ فَسُحۡقࣰا لِّأَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلسَّعِیرِ

Fa'tarafoo bizambihim fasuhqal li as haabis sa'eer

Then they will confess their sin. So, away (from the Mercy of Allah) will be the inmates of the blazing fire

Ayah 12 Verse 12

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ یَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَیۡبِ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةࣱ وَأَجۡرࣱ كَبِیرࣱ

Innal lazeena yakhshawna rabbahum bilghaibi lahum maghfiratunw wa ajrun kabeer

Surely! Those who fear their Lord unseen, they will have forgiveness and a great reward (Paradise)

Ayah 13 Verse 13

وَأَسِرُّوا۟ قَوۡلَكُمۡ أَوِ ٱجۡهَرُوا۟ بِهِۦۤۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِیمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ

Wa asirroo qawlakum awijharoo bihee innahoo 'aleemum bizaatis sudoor

And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, surely, He is All-Knower of what is in the hearts

Ayah 14 Verse 14

أَلَا یَعۡلَمُ مَنۡ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِیفُ ٱلۡخَبِیرُ

Alaa ya'lamu man khalaq wa huwal lateeful khabeer

Should not He know Who has created? And He is the Kind, and Courteous (to His servants), All-Aware (of everything)

Ayah 15 Verse 15

هُوَ ٱلَّذِی جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ ذَلُولࣰا فَٱمۡشُوا۟ فِی مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا۟ مِن رِّزۡقِهِۦۖ وَإِلَیۡهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ

Huwal lazee ja'ala lakumul arda zaloolan famshoo fee manaakibihaa wa kuloo mir rizqihee wa ilaihin nushoor

It is He Who has made the earth submissive to you, so walk in the path thereof and eat of His provision, and to Him will be (the return) for Resurrection

Ayah 16 Verse 16

ءَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ أَن یَخۡسِفَ بِكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَإِذَا هِیَ تَمُورُ

'A-amintum man fissamaaa'i aiyakhsifa bi kumul arda fa izaa hiya tamoor

Do you feel secure from He Who is over the heaven, will not cause the earth to sink with you when it shakes (as in an earthquake)

Ayah 17 Verse 17

أَمۡ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ أَن یُرۡسِلَ عَلَیۡكُمۡ حَاصِبࣰاۖ فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ كَیۡفَ نَذِیرِ

Am amintum man fissamaaa'i ai yursila 'alaikum haasiban fasata'lamoona kaifa nazeer

Or do you feel secure from He Who is over the heaven, will not send against you a violent tornado? Then you shall know how terrible has been My Warning

Ayah 18 Verse 18

وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَكَیۡفَ كَانَ نَكِیرِ

Wa laqad kazzabal lazeena min qablihim fakaifa kaana nakeer

And indeed those before them denied (the Messengers of Allah), then see how terrible was My denial (punishment)

Ayah 19 Verse 19

أَوَ لَمۡ یَرَوۡا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّیۡرِ فَوۡقَهُمۡ صَـٰۤفَّـٰتࣲ وَیَقۡبِضۡنَۚ مَا یُمۡسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَیۡءِۭ بَصِیرٌ

Awalam yaraw ilat tairi fawqahum saaaffaatinw wa yaqbidn; maa yumsikuhunna illaar rahmaan; innahoo bikulli shai im baseer

Do they not see the birds above them spreading out their wings and folding them in? None upholds them except the Gracious (Allah). Surely, He is the All-Seer all of everything

Ayah 20 Verse 20

أَمَّنۡ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی هُوَ جُندࣱ لَّكُمۡ یَنصُرُكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِۚ إِنِ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ إِلَّا فِی غُرُورٍ

Amman haazal lazee huwa jundul lakum yansurukum min doonir rahmaan; inilkaafiroona illaa fee ghuroor

Who is the one that has an army to help you besides the Gracious? The disbelievers are in nothing but delusion

Ayah 21 Verse 21

أَمَّنۡ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی یَرۡزُقُكُمۡ إِنۡ أَمۡسَكَ رِزۡقَهُۥۚ بَل لَّجُّوا۟ فِی عُتُوࣲّ وَنُفُورٍ

Amman haazal lazee yarzuqukum in amsaka rizqah; bal lajjoo fee 'utuwwinw wa nufoor

Who is there that can provide you if He withholds His provision? Nay, they continue to be in pride and they flee (from the truth)

Ayah 22 Verse 22

أَفَمَن یَمۡشِی مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجۡهِهِۦۤ أَهۡدَىٰۤ أَمَّن یَمۡشِی سَوِیًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَ ٰطࣲ مُّسۡتَقِیمࣲ

Afamai yamshee mukibban 'alaa wajhihee ahdaaa ammany yamshee sawiyyan 'alaa siratim mustaqeem

Who is more rightly guided: one who walks with his face bend down without seeing, or the one who sees and walks upright on a Right Way

Ayah 23 Verse 23

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَنشَأَكُمۡ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡءِدَةَۚ قَلِیلࣰا مَّا تَشۡكُرُونَ

Qul huwal lazee ansha akum wa ja'ala lakumus sam'a wal absaara wal af'idata qaleelam maa tashkuroon

Say: “It is He Who has created you, and made for you hearing, seeing, and hearts. Yet, you give little thanks.”

Ayah 24 Verse 24

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِی ذَرَأَكُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ

Qul huwal lazee zara akum fil ardi wa ilaihi tuhsharoon

Say: “It is He Who has created you in the earth, and to Him you shall be gathered (in the Hereafter).”

Ayah 25 Verse 25

وَیَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ

Wa yaqooloona mataa haazal wa'du in kuntum saadiqeen

They say: “When will this Promise (the Day of Resurrection) come to pass if you are telling the truth?”

Ayah 26 Verse 26

قُلۡ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡعِلۡمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَاۤ أَنَا۠ نَذِیرࣱ مُّبِینࣱ

Qul innamal 'ilmu 'indallaahi wa innamaaa ana nazeerum mubeen

Say (O Muhammad): “The knowledge (of its exact time) is only with Allah, and I am only a plain Warner.”

Ayah 27 Verse 27

فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهُ زُلۡفَةࣰ سِیۤءَتۡ وُجُوهُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَقِیلَ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَدَّعُونَ

Falaammaa ra-awhu zulfatan seee'at wujoohul lazeena kafaroo wa qeela haazal lazee kuntum bihee tadda'oon

But, when they will see it (the punishment on the Day of Resurrection) approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will change with sadness (turn black), and it will be said (to them): “This is the Promise which you were calling for!”

Ayah 28 Verse 28

قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَهۡلَكَنِیَ ٱللَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِیَ أَوۡ رَحِمَنَا فَمَن یُجِیرُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِیمࣲ

Qul ara'aytum in ahlaka niyal laahu wa mam ma'iya aw rahimanaa famai-yujeerul kaafireena min 'azaabin aleem

Say (O Muhammad): “Even if Allah destroys me and those with me or He bestows His Mercy on us; who will save the disbelievers from a painful punishment?”

Ayah 29 Verse 29

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَعَلَیۡهِ تَوَكَّلۡنَاۖ فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ مَنۡ هُوَ فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ مُّبِینࣲ

Qul huwar rahmaanu aamannaa bihee wa 'alaihi tawakkalnaa fasata'lamoona man huwa fee dalaalim mubeen

Say: “It is the Gracious (Allah), in Him we believe, and in Him we put our trust. Soon you will come to know who is it that is in clear error.”

Ayah 30 Verse 30

قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَصۡبَحَ مَاۤؤُكُمۡ غَوۡرࣰا فَمَن یَأۡتِیكُم بِمَاۤءࣲ مَّعِینِۭ

Qul ara'aytum in asbaha maaa'ukum ghawran famai yaateekum bimaaa'im ma'een

Say (O Muhammad): “Have you seen that if all your water were to sunk away (in the ground), who then can supply you with flowing water?”
