Surah Mulk for Protection

1. Protection in This Life

2. Protection in the Grave
This is the most emphasized protection in the hadith literature. Abdullah ibn Abbas (RA) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said about a man heard reciting Surah Mulk in his grave: "It is the defender, it is the deliverer — it delivers him from the punishment of the grave."
How it works: The grave is the first stage of the Hereafter. The angels Munkar and Nakir question the deceased. Surah Mulk's themes of tawhid directly prepare the believer for these questions.
3. Protection on Judgment Day
On the Day of Judgment, Surah Al-Mulk will physically intercede for its reciter. Abu Hurayrah (RA) narrated that the Prophet said: "A surah of thirty verses will intercede for its companion until he is forgiven — it is Tabarak Al-Ladhi Biyadihil-Mulk."
The intercession: The surah itself — not just the act of recitation — will speak to Allah on behalf of the reciter, pleading for mercy and forgiveness.
